Lisa Elizabeth Valek

Lisa Elizabeth Valek, 69, died on Labor Day, September 7, 2026, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 42 years, David Joseph Valek. David also passed on Labor Day, five years earlier.

Lisa was born on August 4, 1957, daughter of the late David F. and Joy E. (Christman) Kienle.

Lisa was a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School. She held various positions throughout her career, but Lisa most enjoyed her work as a receptionist at a local salon, where she appreciated spending time with her colleagues. Lisa was also proud to have earned her nail license to offer manicures. 

Lisa will be fondly remembered for his love of travel, cruising, and Disney. Her kind, loving, and bubbly personality and her social demeanor made it easy for those who met her to become friends. Lisa was an avid dog, Snoopy, and Mustang fan, and she especially loved spending time with her family.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Jennifer Hunger and husband, Erik; and Rebecca Gardner and husband, Scott; as well as grandchildren, Jacob and Nathan; brothers, David and wife, Cindy, and Thomas and wife, Julie, sister-in-law, MaryJean Haberl and husband, William, brother-in-law, Joseph, very dear friend, Delicia Stangl, and extended family.

The family will receive guests on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Connell funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018, immediately followed by a ceremony in the funeral home to celebrate Lisa's life.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the animal rescue of your choice, in recognition of Lisa's love of dogs.
