Louis M. Bove, Jr.

Louis M. Bove, Jr., 76, of Bethlehem Township, passed on January 23, 2026. He was born on February 12, 1949, in Bethlehem, the son of the late Louis M. Bove, Sr. and Anna (DelRe) Bove. Lou was the beloved husband of 53 years to his wife, Janet Marie (Olshefski) Bove.

A graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1968, Lou proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Since his days in the military, he had an appreciation for repairing vehicles and used his talents as a mechanic for many years before later serving as a service writer for Penske Auto. He was also a longtime umpire and a dedicated volunteer with North Central Little League, giving countless hours to the community. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and archery. He also shared his love of archery by teaching young children, who affectionately knew him as "Mr. Lou."

Lou was known for his humor; his "dad jokes" were legendary, as well as his generosity, dedication, and warm smile. He loved his family deeply and showed it through both words and actions.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Janet; son, Scott Bove and son-in-law, Bobby, and Chris Bove and daughter-in-law, Yadira, as well as grandson, Anthony Bove; and Yadira's children and grandchildren, Julissa, Daniel, and Jerelynne Medina; and Kayden and Judah Colon; extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Bove.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 East Washington Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Entombment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
