Lucy T. Smarz

Lucy T. Smarz, 94, of Nazareth passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Country Meadows in Bethlehem Township. Born in Elizabeth, NJ she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Agnes (Bosak) Fronczyk. Lucy was the devoted wife to John Smarz for 62 years until his death on January 11, 2014.

Lucy dedicated herself to caring for her family and raising her three children. She was a faithful member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church where she volunteered much of her time. She was part of the pierogi and halupki cooking group and the Rosary Society. Lucy also volunteered with the Girl Scouts.

Lucy will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Stephen Smarz and John P. Smarz and wife, Barbara, daughter, Carolyn Relyea, granddaughter, Kimberley, and great grandson, Jackson. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Emily "Cookie", Helen, Leona, and Stephanie.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 6-8 PM at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 and again Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM followed by an Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church 1140 Johnston Dr., Bethlehem, PA 18017 at 10 AM.
