Magdalene Kovacs

Magdalene A. "Maggie" Kovacs, 90, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, May 2, 2025.

Born on July 21, 1934, in Hellertown, she was the daughter of the late Andrew S. and Theresa (Reiser) Doddy.

A homemaker by profession, Maggie found joy in creating a loving and nurturing environment for her family. She was known for her selflessness and unwavering support, always putting the needs of her loved ones first. Maggie enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family and creating memories around the dining table.

One of her greatest pleasures was vacationing at the beach, where she found solace and joy in the sun, sand, and waves.

Maggie will be dearly missed by her husband of 67 years, John "Jack" Kovacs; two daughters, Denise Keeler and her husband, Joseph and Patricia Snell and her husband, David; son-in-law, Dennis Recker; two brothers, James Doddy and his wife, Luann and Michael Doddy; four grandchildren, Alyssa and her husband, Anthony, Ariel and her husband, Tommy, Amanda and her husband, Josh and Gabby and her husband, Luke; and seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Grant, Rylee, Gabriel, Morgan, Marsalee, and Tucker.

In addition to her parents, Maggie is preceded in death by her daughter, Terese Recker; and two brothers, Andrew J. Doddy and George Doddy.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the church. Inurnment of Maggie's remains will be private.
