Mary K. Smodish

Mary K. Smodish, 87, of Hellertown, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem. Born January 20, 1919 in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Thersa Zakocs Kosik. She was the loving wife of the late Ernest Smodish who died in 1990. She was a sewing machine operator for many of the local dress shops. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and a member of their social ministry. Mary will be lovingly remembered by, sons, Ernest R. "Butch" Smodish and Robert E. Smodish both of Bethlehem; daughters, MaryAnn Kellow & husband Robert of Waretown, N.J.; Patricia A. Krycia & husband John of Hellertown;

and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. she was preceded in death by, a sister, Sadie Hrvsovsky and brothers, Julius, Joseph & Stephen Kosik.

Services: Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 12 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church of Lower Saucon Twp. Easton Rd.

Calling Hours will be Friday, September 22, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, from 11-12 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Union Cemetery of Hellertown, in Hellertown, PA
