Michael Douglas Wetherill

Michael D. Wetherill, 72, of Bethlehem, PA passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, surrounded by his family and loving wife of 49 years Maria(Hladasz). Born in Chester, PA he was the son of the late George and Esther (Kiefer) Ferguson. Michael retired from Nissan Motor Corp. after 26 years of service. Mike was an active and devoted member of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bethlehem PA. He served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and assisted the priest with various religious services. Mike was passionate about cycling no matter the weather. He participated in many charity rides. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.

He will be remembered by his devoted wife, Maria, children, Michael Jr.(Sephura), Kateryna Wetherill (Adam), Patricia Leporati (Daniel). He was predeceased by his brother, Bill Wetherill (Cathy), and survived by his siblings Virgina Ferguson, Mary Moor (Tom), George Ferguson, Jr. (Cindy), Donna Ferguson, Charles Ferguson (Rizz) and LeeAnn Piergrossi (Stephen) and 4 grandchildren, Damien, Esme, Nora and Noah. He will also be remembered by his many friends and best walking buddy, Max.

Viewing will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-8 PM with Parastas at 7:00 PM. A Calling hour will be held Friday in the funeral home from 8:15-9:15 AM followed by a funeral service at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1836 Kenmore Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S. Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064.
