Michael J. Castellani

Michael J. Castellani, 81, of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 at The Vero at Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Donna L. (Mertz) Castellani who died October 28, 2022. Michael was born in Passaic, NJ on April 24, 1942 to the late Michael Ralph and Eleanor (Urbanovich) Castellani.


He served our country in the United States Army during Peacetime. Michael worked for the former Bethlehem Steel as a Machinist Foreman for 45 years until retiring in 2010. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Bethlehem, Twp. Michael was a member of Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, Northampton, Roosevelt Democratic Assoc., Bethlehem and the BVFHA, Bethlehem. Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a devoted grandfather, attending all of his grandchildren’s activities and keeping all of their mementoes from each event. Michael’s family would like to thank the entire staff at The Vero at Bethlehem for their care and compassion.


Survivors: children: Michael D. (Kimberly Riley-Castellani) of Center Valley, Marcy (Scott) Shander of Northampton, sisters: Rita Mary Kurtz of Allentown, Victoria Whitehead of Bethlehem; grandchildren: Michael A. Castellani, Angela R. Fortier, Brittain Shander & Calla Shander. Predeceased by siblings: Martin Castellani, Victor Kleppinger.


Service: Private and at the convenience of the family. The inurnment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem with Military Honors. Online condolences may be offered at connellfuneral.com.
