Nicholas Hallahan

February 2, 1921 — August 25, 2007

Nicholas Hallahan, 86 of Bethlehem died Saturday morning at Lehigh Valley-Muhlenberg Hospital in Bethlehem.

He and his wife Catherine M.Glagola Hallahan celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary June 26th.

He was very proud of his birth place in Nesquehoning. He is the son of the late Andrew and Mary Swider Hallahan.

He graduated from Allentown Business College in 1940.

Mr. Hallahan worked for the Bethlehem Steel Company for 40 years retiring in 1981 as a general foreman in the Drop Forge Division.

He was an active member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of the Byzantine Rite in Bethlehem.

He lived his life as a very giving individual and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He was a member of G.C.U. Sokols, the National Sokols, a life member of West Easton Athletic Association, and Jefferson Democratic Club.

He was a long time member of the former Bethlehem Steel Club where he was an avid golfer and achieved a hole-in-one.

He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Silver Creek Country Club 1989- 1991 and was a member of Lehigh Valley Engineers Club and Past President of B.A. Bowling Association.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters: Nancy wife of Concalo ?Sal? Tavares of Yardley, PA and Catherine wife of William J. McGettigan of King of Prussia, Pa., one sister Martha Hixson of Champaign IL, and five grandchildren; Scott Tavares, Stacey Considine, William S., Jennifer E. and Ryan N. McGettigan

He was preceded in death by his brother George and his Sister Anne Petruska

A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home 245 East Broad Street followed by Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of the Byzantine Rite 1140 Johnston Drive Bethlehem.

Visitation will be Monday Evening 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or Memorials may be made to SS. Peter & Paul Church.
