Nickoline A. "Nicky" Bednar, 94, of Bethlehem Township, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Holy Family Manor. Born on May 1, 1932, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Josephine Bove. Nicky was married to the late Joseph G. Bednar, Jr.
Nicky was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church and an active participant in her community. She was a talented seamstress but her talents extended far beyond her profession. She was known for her exquisite cooking, her beautiful holiday decorations, and her warm hospitality, creating a loving atmosphere during family gatherings. Her family was her pride and joy, and she always put them at the center of her life. Nicky also had a passion for crocheting, which brought her much joy, and she loved to spend time at the casino, where she enjoyed the thrill of the game.
Nicky will be dearly missed by her sisters, Michelina Leonard and Madaline Cabone; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joseph, Nicky is preceded in death by her brothers, Louis, James, Anthony, and John Bove; and sisters, Mary Marcinko and Anna Murphy.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another viewing will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 1817 1st Street, Bethlehem, PA 18020.
