Olimpia N. Sousa

Olimpia N. Sousa, 88, of Wescosville, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, October 17th, in her home with her daughters by her side. Born in Veiros, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Joao Couto and Gloria Nunes Guiomar. She was married to Jose R. Sousa for 40 years until his death on October 14, 1998.

Olimpia worked and retired from the former Casco manufacturing factory in Hellertown. She was a former member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church in Hellertown and currently St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Allentown and the Portuguese American Club. In her free time, Olimpia was often found tending to her garden or cooking up a meal for her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Maria wife of David Platt and Elizabeth wife of John Spataccino, sister, Maria Sousa, grandchildren, Isabella Corino, David J. Platt, and Donny Corino, III, and nieces Maria Fodero and RoseMarie Stout.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 24th, at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 1408 Easton Rd, Hellertown, PA 18055 at 11 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home.
