Orlando A. Aso

Orlando A. Aso, Sr., MD, 86, of Bethlehem Township, died Friday, December 15, 2023 in his home.  Born in Lazi, Siquijor, Philippines he was the son of the late Mariano and Ignacia (Anoos) Aso. He was married to Linda (Balagon) Aso for 31 years until her death on August 9, 2002.

Orlando went to medical school at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. His work brought him to the United States where he trained as a resident at Mount Sinai hospital in New York City and eventually moved to Pennsylvania where he was a general surgeon at Palmerton Hospital. 

Orlando will be lovingly remembered by his son, Orlando B. Aso, Jr. with whom he resided and a brother, Raulto Aso. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Meynardo, Mariano, Jr., and Lucilo and sister, Remedios Rsoliveres.  

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 21st at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-8 PM. Another viewing will be held Friday, December 22nd at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.  Burial will immediately follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
