Patricia Ann Matlaga, 82, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday February 23, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Stephen John Matlaga. Born on July 21, 1943 in Bethlehem, PA. Pat was the cherished daughter of the late Al and Mary (Alich) Lukievics. Patricia was known for her vivacious personality and unwavering support for those she loved. In her youth, she was a standout basketball and softball athlete, earning the title of Most Athletic at Liberty High School, class of 1961 in Bethlehem, PA. Whether she was bowling, swimming, spending time with her family and friends, traveling on numerous cruises to Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean and more, or engaging in a fierce game of Yahtzee or Scrabble, her playful spirit was always on display. She was also a lifetime member of the Newark, Delaware Post 475 VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Affectionately known as"Patsy," she was the ultimate cheerleader, proudly serving as the "#1 fan" of her children and grandchildren. She never missed an important event of her family or friends. A proud 'Fanilow,' Patsy's love for Barry Manilow took her to countless concerts and even to Las Vegas with her daughters, singing along every word. Her enduring love for others was evident in everything she did.
