Patrick J. O'Connell

Patrick J. O?Connell, 83, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully in St. Luke?s VNA

Hospice, Lower Saucon, on Tuesday, June 27. He was preceded in death by his wife and life-long love,

Cecilia M. O?Connell, who died on July 4, 2000, after celebrating 52 years of marriage. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John and Loretta McGovern O?Connell. He served his country during WWII as a member of the U.S. Army. Having worked previously for Bethlehem Steel and Sheridan Machine Company of Palmer Township, he retired from Bethlehem Area School District in 1986. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Church of Bethlehem Township. Having been gifted with a beautiful voice, he enjoyed singing and was a member of both the Sacred Heart Church Choir and the MORA Chorus, where he frequently sang solos and performed for special occasions.

He was a member of many clubs and social organizations, including the Autumn and MORA Clubs, and his

interests and hobbies were as numerous as the friendships he cultivated throughout the years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Linda, wife of Andrew Bogoly of Bethlehem

Township; and Patricia, wife of Joel Dantinne of Bethlehem. Additionally, he leaves behind a

granddaughter, Allison Dantinne of Bethlehem; as well as two sisters, Kathleen Horwath and Anna Marie

Corvino, both of Fountain Hill. Two brothers, John O?Connell and Thomas O?Connell, preceded him

in death. Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Friday, June 30, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 1817 First St. Bethlehem, PA 18020. Visitation will be held, Thursday, June 29, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke?s 1510 Valley Center Parkway, Suite 200, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
