Paul A. Pilyar, 89, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday August 29, 2010 at Praxis Nursing Home, Easton. Born in Bethlehem on November 27, 1920, he was the son of the late John and Anna Havernik Pilyar. He was the husband of the late Philomena Salvadge Pilyar who died in 2003.
Paul was employed by the Bethlehem Steel and retired in 1980. He was a member of the Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church and served his country as a Navy Seabee during WWII.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Thomas Pilyar and his wife, Kim of Bethlehem, daughters, Nancy Steyers of Iowa City, IA, and Katherine Kostenbader of Coralville, IA, grandchildren, Curt Steyers III, and Jessica Steyers.
Arrangements are being handled by Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A graveside service will be held on Saturday September 4th at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.
