Peter S. Kubat

Peter S. Kubat, 86, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at Muhlenberg Hospital in Bethlehem. Born January 18, 1920, in Larksville, PA, he was the son of the late Antoni and Julia Zateracz Kubat. He was the loving husband of Clare S. Stein Kubat. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past June 2nd. Peter worked for Bethlehem Steel at the former Fab Shop for 21 years. He retired in 1976.

He served his country proudly during WWII in the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart after being wounded in Africa. He was a member of The Hellertown American Legion Post 397 and the Honor Guard for 28 years, The VFW Post 3094, The DAV Post 7, a life member of The Grover Cleveland Club, The Coplay Saengerbund and a former member of The Eternal Order of Eagles Post 284 and The Fearless Fire Co. #14. He was also a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Bethlehem.

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Clare, sons, Peter P. Kubat & wife Kathy of West Chester, PA; David P. Kubat of Effort, PA; brother, Stanley Kubat of Sun City, AZ; sister, Loretta Pinky of Palmer Twp., PA; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by, brothers, John, Joseph, Anthony, Alexander, Stephen & Walter Kubat and sisters, Nelly Novack and Mary Barnett.

Services: A funeral service will be held Monday, September 18, 2006 at 9:30 AM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church 429 Hayes St. Bethlehem. Visitation will be Sunday, September 17, 2006 from 7-9 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the church in lieu of flowers.
