Richard Guerro, 83, passed on September 22, 2024, after a long illness with Lewy Body Dementia and late onset Alzheimer's.
Born on February 4, 1941, in Pen Argyl, he was the son of the late Christian and Josephine (Tilli) Guerro.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, teacher and coach. He will always be remembered for his warmth and willingness to help his family and friends. He was known in his youth for his athletic abilities while attending Pen Argyl high school. He played football, baseball and track. He was well known for his running speed and friends often talked about Richard's fast legs. Richard had many lifelong friends and attended most of his high school reunions. He loved looking back in time on his many wonderful childhood memories.
Richard leaves behind his loving and devoted family; his wife Nancy (Cabrera), daughter Christy, son in law Graham DePaolo, and granddaughter Oona DePaolo. His Shitzu Macbeth will be lost without him as will all of us. In addition to Richard's immediate family, Richard leaves behind a brother, Ronald Guerro, sister-in-law, Anna Marie, sister-in-law, Marlene Guerro, sister-in-law, Dolores Sloat and six brother-in-law's of the Cabrera family, members of the Cabrera and Guerro families, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Guerro.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 11-12 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
