Robert King Pierce, 81, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at Hospice

House of the VNA of St. Luke's. Born in White Plains, NY, on January 6, 1944, he

was the son of the late Robert Bell Pierce and Barbara (King) Pierce Condon.

Robert was the devoted husband of Joan Diane Pierce, with whom he shared more

than 50 years of marriage. The two were married in 1975 at St. Thomas Church on

5th Avenue in New York City, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love,

laughter, and adventure.

A proud New Yorker by birth, Robert graduated from high school and went on to

attend classes at the University of Miami. He began his professional journey with

the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) as a tour page and went on to build

an impressive 25-year career that included roles as Production Manager for

NBC Nightly News and the Today Show, Operations Manager, and Unit Manager

for several programs. It was during his years at NBC that he met Joan,

the love of his life. Known for his strong work ethic and direct approach, Robert was

respected by colleagues as a true professional and in every sense of the word.

Following his career in broadcasting, Robert transitioned into real estate, working

as an agent for Davis R. Chant Realtors in Milford, Pennsylvania. No matter the

industry, his honesty, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence defined his

work.

Outside of his professional life, Robert was a rugged outdoorsman with a deep

appreciation for nature. Whether he was hunting in the woods, fishing on a quiet

lake, or scuba diving in the ocean, Robert found peace and purpose in the natural

world. He shared his love for the outdoors with others as a volunteer at Curtis S.

Read Boy Scout Camp, where he taught firearm-related merit badges to

generations of young scouts. A lifetime member of the National Rifle Association,

Robert also served as a certified safety instructor, emphasizing responsibility,

respect, and education.

Robert's adventurous spirit was matched by his curiosity and intellect. He was a

passionate reader, especially drawn to books on history and world events,

and could always be found with a book or newspaper in hand. He loved to stay

informed, often watching the evening news and keeping up with the workings of

government. His eclectic taste in food, love for music; especially The Rolling

Stones and The Eagles, and fondness for the beaches of Rehoboth, Delaware, and

Miami, Florida, reflected a man with wide interests and a zest for life.

Robert was proud to be a member of the Children of the American Revolution,

honoring his family's heritage and deep respect for country.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Joan Diane Pierce; his son, Robert

Adam Pierce and wife, Sara Green; daughter, Diana Hope Pierce and husband, J.

Andrew Wein; and his extended family and friends who admired his strength,

wisdom, and heart.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra

Christian, and brother, Todd Pierce.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem. Services

will be announced at a later date. Please visit connellfuneral.com for updated

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Delaware Seashore

Preservation Foundation https://dspf.net, continuing Robert's lifelong

commitment to the conservation and respect of nature.
