Ronald T. Hersh Sr.

August 7, 1943 — March 17, 2024

Ronald T. Hersh Sr., 80, formerly of Bethlehem Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 17, 2024, at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, PA. He was born in Quakertown, PA, the son of the late Arthur and Irene (Mertl) Hersh. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Varady) Hersh for 57 years. Ronald was Assistant Building Engineer for the Bethlehem Vo-Tech School having retired from there. He was also employed as a welder for various companies in the Lehigh Valley over the years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany and Korea during the Vietnam Era.


Ronald served on the Board of Directors for the Heights St. Joseph Federal Credit Union. He was a member of the Brown and Lynch Post 9 American Legion and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 313.


He served as Sexton for the Edgeboro Moravian Church for 27 years and was a long-time member of the Bethlehem Boating Club and the F-3 Fishing Club. He was an avid fisherman and Country Music fan, a proud father and Pop-Pop and enjoyed many years of traveling adventures with Dorothy, his “Honey Bunny”.


He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy; sons Dr. Ronald Hersh Jr. and wife Ann, and Andrew Hersh and wife Deirde; daughter Melissa Hersh and husband Jeffrey Paulson; sister Kathy Eckert; grandchildren, Cullen and wife Emma, Caitlin, Gabriella, Nuallan, Ty, Miranda, Evelyn and Terry and great-grandchildren, Lily and Keegan. He was predeceased by sisters, Carolyn Albrecht and Debbie Phillips and a granddaughter, Rebekah.


Services will be private. Arrangements made by Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem, PA.
