Shirley M. Richards

Shirley M. Richards, 95, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Schuylkill Center in Pottsville. Born on May 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn (Frankett) and Wilbur Shepard. She was the loving wife of the late Edward W. Richards.

Shirley was a great mom and Gram to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life was family first and did anything she could to be there for her family. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, watching the Phillies and WWE and if possible, she would do these things with her favorite scoop of ice cream. Shirley often accompanied Eddie on fishing trips not to fish but just to be with her husband. She loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Craig Richards and his wife, Patricia; son-in-law, Darryl Deemer and wife Nan; grandchildren, Jason Roberts and wife Jen, Brooke Morris and husband Brian and Adam Deemer and wife Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Michael, Mia, Josh, Jake, Riley, Rhett and Ryder. Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Deemer.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 12 noon at Bethlehem Memorial Park, 1851 Linden St. Bethlehem, PA 18017.
