Sister Mary Jeanne Schwartz

Sister Mary Jeanne Schwartz O.S.F., 95, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday July 26, 2006 at the Mother House Convent of the Sisters of St. Francis.

She was born in Trenton, NJ; the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Koltko Schwartz.

Sister Mary Jeanne was a Business Teacher at Mt. Assisi Academy in

Pittsburgh, PA; St. Ann School in Farrell, PA; and St. Francis Academy in Bethlehem.

She also taught at elementary schools in New Jersey and Massachusetts.

Sister Mary Jeanne also worked as a homemaker for many years in Hudson County, New Jersey.

She entered into religious life at Mount Assisi Convent in Pittsburgh on September 12, 1932.

Sister Mary Jeanne made her first profession of vows August 7, 1934.

She celebrated her 70th Jubilee of Profession in 2004.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Sister Mary Jeanne was preceded in death by her four sisters.

Services are under the direction of Connell Funeral Home, Inc, Bethlehem

A visitation will be held on Monday August 31, 2006 at the Mother House Convent Chapel of the Sisters of St. Francis from 10-11AM with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM in the chapel.

Burial will follow at the Mother House Cemetery.
