Stephen A. Piccirelli, 74, of Walnutport, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, with his loving family by his side.
Born in New York, NY, on October 21, 1951, he was the son of the late Amerigo Piccirelli and Antoinette (Collechia) Piccirelli. Stephen shared a loving marriage with his devoted wife, Janice R. (DeRosa) Piccirelli for 53 wonderful years.
Stephen graduated from New York Community College in 1973 with an A.A.S. degree in Graphic Arts. He built a successful 27-year career with AT&T, where his strong work ethic and leadership earned him a variety of supervisory and management roles in graphic arts, purchasing, and fleet administration. Even after retiring from AT&T, Stephen wasn't ready to slow down. He continued serving his community as a food service supervisor at Northampton County Prison before later enjoying his time as a school bus driver with First Student, where he appreciated the opportunity to connect with students each day.
Stephen was a man of many talents and interests. He was an avid hunter and proud member of the National Rifle Association, he found great enjoyment in the outdoors, especially hunting and spending time in Promised Land, Pennsylvania and in upstate Roscoe, New York. He was a gifted artist who loved sketching and drafting, an enthusiastic reader, and a former Boy Scout. He also cherished his faithful dog, Benson.
Above all else, Stephen treasured time spent with his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than being surrounded by those he loved, especially his grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart.
In addition to his wife, Janice, he is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Stephanie Radler and her husband, Chad, Lisa Schippers and her husband, Stephen, and Janelle Piccirelli; his beloved grandchildren, Dylan Konrad, Brayden Radler, Logan Konrad, Nolan Radler, Olivia Konrad, Ella Taylor, and Luke Schippers; along with extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Piccirelli.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. And again, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery Mausoleum, Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stephen's memory to support his beloved granddaughter, Olivia Konrad, who lives with Rett syndrome and attends a special needs summer camp for children with a variety of disabilities. Donations will help offset Olivia's camp expenses and allow her to continue enjoying the friendships, experiences, and opportunities the camp provides. Checks may be made payable to Lisa Schippers.
