Steven F. "Killer" Kowalski, 81, of Bethlehem, passed away on October 5, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospice House.
Steven was born on June 9, 1945, to the late Steven and Claire (Washefsky) Kowalski. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Dolly, on July 15, and together they recently celebrated their 59th anniversary.
Steven was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. During this time, Steven had the opportunity to see different places and experience much that the world had to offer. Over the years, he traveled extensively, creating many memories and stories along the way. After the service, Steven worked in shipping at various companies. He also worked as a security guard at the Bethlehem Steel for many years. When the Steel began to downsize, Steven moved to working in manufacturing for Dixie Cup as a machine operator. He worked there for over 21 years before he retired. Steven was a dedicated member of the I.C.C. and took great pride in being involved with the organization. He especially enjoyed helping with their annual Christmas tradition of dressing up as Santa Claus for the children, a tradition that brought him great joy and allowed him to give back to others.
Steven found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was happiest when surrounded by the things he loved. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching NASCAR, baseball, and basketball. Steven also enjoyed bowling and was proud to have bowled in three leagues over the years. A particular passion of his was racing, especially during the days when the Nazareth dirt track was a popular destination. He cherished the excitement and memories that came with experiencing the races with his family. Steven had a great appreciation for music, especially rock and roll. He enjoyed listening to bands such as AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, and KISS. Steven was also great at music trivia. He loved spending time at the beach, enjoying the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of the shore, although he was perfectly content to keep his feet on the sand rather than jumping in for a swim.
Surviving Steven is his beloved wife, Dorothy "Dolly" (Adams) Kowalski; his daughter, Shawnlynn (Ronald Jr.) Brazinski; two sisters, Agnes (John) Kurtitz, and Kay Ann Hess; two brothers, Eugene (Linda) and Ronald Kowalski; as well as many more friends and family.
In addition to his parents, Steven is preceded in death by two sisters, Lorraine Miller, and Diane Wood.
A visitation for Steven will be held on Friday, October 9, from 11-12 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. A prayer service will begin promptly at 12 p.m., with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Allentown.
