Thomas Sweeney

Thomas E. Sweeney, 72, of Lansdale PA, died on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. He was born in Bethlehem on February 21, 1952, the son of the late Elizabeth M. (Early) and Clarence J. Sweeney.

"Tommy" embraced simple living, and he embodied pure love and kindness. Despite facing personal and health challenges, he built an independent life, supported by the constant love of his sister and brother-in-law. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem for many years before moving to the Lansdale area where he lived and worked before retiring. He enjoyed playing chess and poker, taking long walks, following stocks, and watching sports. He was a loving son, brother and uncle and a helpful neighbor to many.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Elizabeth A. and brother-in-law William J. Long of Lansdale; his niece, Catherine E. McDonald and her husband Thomas A. and their daughter, Jacqueline M. of Allentown; and his other great-nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, John Sweeney, and his niece, Patricia Anne Long.

Services at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018, are private. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
