Victor Quarato Sr.

August 27, 1928 — May 10, 2006

Victor G. Quarato, Sr., 77, died May 10 in his home with his family at his side. He was the husband of Mary Ann Mitch Quarato. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on February 6th. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Donato and Rose Loicano Quarato.

Victor was a 1947 graduate of Liberty High School. He was assistant manager at the former Warner?s Drugstore and was manager of Milgreen?s 5 & 10 Store in Bethlehem. He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation in 1991 after working for 33 years in the Saucon Scheduling Department.

After completing training in the Medical Technician Procedure Program at the United State Army Medical Field Service School in Fort Sam Houston, TX, he served as a medic with the rank of Sergeant in Germany, attached to the 109th Engineering Battalion during the Korean War. In the late 1960?s, Victor served as the first president of the Home & School Association of Our Lady of Perpetual Help School; he was President of the Bethlehem MORA Club from 2000 ? 2002. He was a member of the First Windish Beneficial Society, the Northeast Wanderers, the Heights Athletic Association and the Grover Cleveland Democratic Association. In 1999, Victor also received a Certificate of Completion from the Citizen?s Police Academy.

Survivors: Wife; son, Victor G., Jr. and his wife Luann of Bethlehem Twp.; daughters, Victoria Moyer of Harrisburg; Patricia A. of Essex Junction, VT; Cynthia Fisher and her husband Gery M. of Bethlehem; Mary Ann Puleo and her husband Joseph M. of Sinking Spring; aunt, Lucy Rich of Bethlehem; uncle, George Loicano of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren, Nicole Pinkman and husband Darrien M., Sr., Jessica Fisher, Daniel Fisher, Nichole Hill, Brandon Hill, Matthew Puleo and Dante Quarato; and one great-grandson, Darrien Pinkman, Jr.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 15, 2006 at 9:15 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem Twp. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 14, 2006 from 6 pm ? 9 pm and Monday, from 8:15 am ? 9:15 am in the funeral home.
