William Flederbach

February 19, 1945 — June 29, 2025

Allentown

William "Bill" Eugene Flederbach, of Allentown PA died on Sunday June 29th at the Lehigh Valley Hospice Center after a heroic battle. He fought the fight and never lost his sense of humor and love for his family. Born on February 19, 1945 in Kearny, NJ, and having grown up in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Janice (Collins) Flederbach. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Para) Flederbach.

Bill was a member of St. Thomas More Church. He received a degree from Penn State in fabrication and attended continuing education classes at Muhlenberg College. He was a retired Chief Operating Officer of Corus Steel (retired 2007), formerly Apollo Metals located in Bethlehem, PA. During his career, he was also a self-taught architect, designing Bill and Barbara's dream house in Allentown in 1987. Bill just loved his career, his family, friends and his dogs. He was extremely driven, an ethical leader, a beacon you could always count on. Bill's glass was always half full, an eternal optimist that always found a solution. Bill had the innate ability to get along with everyone. Bill also loved golf and was proud to have scored a hole-in-one playing in the Apollo league at Bethlehem Municipal. In addition to golf, Bill enjoyed running, sailing his boat and keeping an immaculate lawn. He was a big car enthusiast, never leaving home with break dust on the wheels!

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Flederbach; two children, Greta Flederbach and her spouse Richard Bergstein of Allentown PA, and William (Bill) Flederbach Jr. and his spouse Linda of Houston, TX. Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Mark.
