Zachary Caflin, 23, of Bethlehem, entered eternal life on October 21, 2025, while hiking, surrounded by the beauty of nature he so deeply loved. The day marked four months since he married his beloved wife, Sabrina Caflin. Zach met Sabrina many years ago on a mission trip, where their shared faith and passion for serving others laid the foundation for a beautiful relationship built on love, joy, and purpose.
Zach was born in Hollywood, Florida on January 24, 2002. He is the son of Christopher and Kelly (Harting) Caflin. Zach was a light in the lives of everyone who knew him.
Zachary was described by those closest to him as selfless, joyful, and deeply kind; a man whose gentle strength inspired everyone around him. Through his actions, Zach taught others what it truly meant to be selfless. With his trademark sarcasm and sharp sense of humor, he could bring laughter into any situation, yet his compassion and servant's heart always shone brightest.
A student at East Stroudsburg University, Zach was pursuing a degree in Computer Science. He founded the Tabletop Games Club on campus, where he could often be found playing Magic: The Gathering; a hobby he loved not only for the game itself, but for the friendships and community it created. He carried his cards with him everywhere, always ready to play and connect.
Outside the classroom, Zach found peace in nature and the mountains. He loved hiking, climbing, and exploring the beauty of the outdoors. His faith was an anchor in his life, and he was an active member of Grace Church, where he shared his time and heart in service to others.
Zach was currently working at Walmart while completing his studies. His kindness, humor, and quiet leadership left an impression on everyone he met.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Sabrina; his parents, Christopher and Kelly Caflin; sisters, Zoe and Kira Caflin; maternal grandmother, Bette Maiatico and husband, Mike; paternal grandmother, Nancy Kranyecz and husband, Gary; and paternal grandfather, George Caflin, Jr. and wife, Connie. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Kristen Sevinsky and husband, Scott, Ryan Harting and wife, Kristen, and Cathy Rudisill and husband, Ken; as well as his extended family and many friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Harting.
Zachary's life was a testament to faith, friendship, and love; a gentle giant who found joy in the simple things and gave selflessly to everyone around him. His legacy will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
Services have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem, and will be private. A celebration of Zach's life for friends will be announced at a later date; please visit Zach's obituary page at www.connellfuneral.com for updates.
