Zinaida Chernyshevych

Zinaida Chernyshevych, 80, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026 at Northampton Post Acute. Born on January 1, 1946, in Murmansk, Russia, she was the daughter of the late Vailii Obzherin and Maria (Usupova) Obzherina.

Zinaida was known for her nurturing spirit, always taking care of those around her with immense love and compassion. Zinaida was a woman of many passions; she enjoyed sewing, had a deep appreciation for classic music and old movies, and was particularly devoted to her faith. In her later years, she enjoyed doing crosswords with her husband, playing cards, and dominoes with her family. Her home was a reflection of her character-immaculately kept and filled with warmth, where she thrived in ensuring everything was in order.

Zinaida will be dearly missed by her daughter, Inna Zalutsky and her husband, Konstantin; grandson, Anton Zalutsky; granddaughter, Tess Zalutsky; two nieces, Lena and Svetlana; and nephew, Vladimir; and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Zinaida is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oleksandr Chernyshevych who passed in 2024 and her three sisters.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
