David Jacob Nagy

November 17, 2007 — June 1, 2025

Bethlehem Township

With deepest sorrow and profound love, we announce the sudden and tragic passing of David Jacob Nagy, 17, of Bethlehem Township, PA, on June 1, 2025. David was born November 17, 2007, to his adoring parents, Kristof and Heidi Nagy.

A junior at Freedom High School, David was a young man who lived fully and loved deeply. Bright, kind, and wise beyond his years, David was a proud member of the National Honor Society and the gifted program. He was well spoken and fiercely passionate, using his voice to advocate for increased education funding through the Proud Parents Group, even twice traveling to the state capital to speak to lawmakers. His future was luminous; he was excited to graduate high school at the top of his class and attend Penn State University to pursue a degree in electrical engineering.

David's energy was electric. He loved being with his friends, including his girlfriend, Lily and going to concerts-more recently, a two-night show to see his favorite band, Metallica with his father and friends. He had a deep appreciation for various music, especially rock and metal, and was a talented guitar player himself.

A true entrepreneur and problem-solver, David co-founded a lawn care business along with his best friend, and he refurbished and sold gaming systems. He had a love and a deep curiosity for technology. In second grade with the help of a teacher, he and a class friend even authored and published a short book. His curiosity and drive were matched by his independence-he enjoyed modifying his beloved Honda Civic, biking, swimming, and tackling any challenge with focus and heart.

David also loved movies, reading, amusement parks, and as a little boy, he had a deep fascination with trains. As an elementary student, he enjoyed attending the Bethlehem area summer parks program and was a recipient of the Allison Perno Scholarship. In elementary school, he even started a nonfiction book club, a testament to his leadership and love of learning.

David will be remembered for his intelligence, his quick wit, his love for animals, and his deep connection to his community. He had the rare ability to be mature and grounded while also bursting with youthful joy and wonder. He was, simply put, extraordinary.

David is survived by his loving parents, Kristof and Heidi Nagy, his cherished sister, Elisabeth Nagy, his uncles, Jacob Veiland and David Nagy, maternal grandmother, Linda Veiland, great-grandmother, Sophie Gyorfi, great-aunts, Elaine Clymer and Cathy Gyorfi, and many extended family members and dear friends who will carry his memory with them always.

David was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ralph Veiland and Arpad Nagy, and grandmother, Erzsebet Nagy.

Family and friends are invited to honor David's life on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a ceremony to celebrate David's life at 12:00 p.m. In addition to the celebration of life, a memorial gathering may be held in the near future.
