Revelly Ann Paul
October 4, 1944 - May 28, 2022
Revelly Ann (Finn) Paul was born early in the morning of October 4, 1944 to Helena and Larry Finn in Athens, Georgia where her father was attending flight school. Growing up around naval air stations with two free-spirited parents, her earliest memory was of her father hovering over her house waving to her from his helicopter. A self-taught inventor, her father would influence her later work of championing divergent thinking and difference in public schools. Revelly earned a Masters in Education from Lehigh University and became the director of gifted programming there, running Lehigh’s wildly popular gifted summer program. A tireless advocate, she mentored parents, was instrumental in bringing AP classes to the Bethlehem Area School District, and served as president of the Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education, winning the Neuber-Pregler Award in 1998. She was a reference librarian at Lehigh University, and in retirement prided herself on reading a book a day. Most of all she loved finding, supporting and cheerleading children who were different and divergent thinkers. Revelly is survived by her husband, Jack Paul, of Bethlehem; son Jeffrey Fynn-Paul (Jennifer Fynn) of Zoetermeer, Netherlands; daughter Jessica Paul (Kevin Chu), of Bethlehem; grandchildren Persephone, Patrick, James and Helena; and a brother, Michael Finn, of Jacksonville, FL. A calling hour will be held for family and friends 1-2 p.m. Saturday, June 18th at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. A reception will follow.
