Richard R. Ridgick Jr.

Richard R. Ridgick, Jr., 68, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 22, 2021, surrounded by love. Born March 8, 1953, he was a son of the late Richard R. and Mildred (Karch) Ridgick. A graduate of Freedom High School’s Class of 1971, Richard went on to enter the workforce as a mechanic before transitioning to roofing for a short time. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force, spending six years on active duty and two years in reserves, prior to retiring in 1979. Following his military career, Richard returned to roofing work, retiring as a foreman from Gehringer Corporation. Outside of work, he had many interests: fitness, football, sitting in the woods (hunting), building and fixing things, and Classic Westerns. He was also a man of deep faith with a heart of gold. His biggest passion in life was his family. He was loved by friends, family, and friends that are family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Michael T. Ridgick. Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of forty-six years, Vickie (Martin) Ridgick; one daughter: Lisa Ridgick-Nimeh; one son: Robert M. Ridgick (Stephanie); two grandchildren: William and Emma Ridgick; four siblings: Sandra Huertas, Thomas J. Ridgick, David Ridgick (Diane), and Annie Fries. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 6:00pm until the time of the Celebration of Life at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Military honors will follow. At the request of the family, and due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks will be required inside the funeral home.
