Bernard J. "Bernie" Daday II

Bernard J. “Bernie” Daday, II, 62 of Allentown, PA, died on April 21, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest from the effects of COVID. Bernie had a lifelong love of flying, having soloed at age 16 and obtaining his private pilot’s license at age 18. He was also an avid photographer, boater, ham radio operator, and weatherman. A 1977 graduate of Freedom High School, he received his B.S. in electrical engineering from Grove City College in 1981. He then entered the “loop” management training program at Bethlehem Steel Corp. where he worked for a number of years. In 1994, he started his own project management and software development company, IFCorp, and was a pioneer in integrated project management, working with over 25 of America’s largest companies, including such clients as AT&T, NCR, Motorola, GE, and GM. Recently, he partnered with EPAM working on a major project for the State of Delaware. Born in 1959 in Quincy, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Bernard and Florence Daday. He is survived by his daughter Vanessa of Indianapolis, IN; son Douglas of Richmond, VA; brother Mark (husband of Rose) of Pittsburgh, PA; long-time companion and fiancée, Andrea Decker and her son Jeffrey. Due to COVID concerns, visitation will be private on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA, 18018. Friends are welcome to attend a Mass of the Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, PA, 18020. Private interment to follow at Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem, PA. A gathering to celebrate Bernie’s life will be held once the COVID threat is reduced (hopefully July). An announcement will be published at that time and we invite all his friends and family to attend.
